Who doesn’t love free gas? In honor of Nurses Week, May 6-12, we popped up at gas stations across Southern California to fill the tanks of our beloved nurses. With gas prices skyrocketing across Southern California, and nurses working unbelievably hard throughout this past year, filling up their tanks reflects just a token of our appreciation for all they do.
We started the week off in Glendale and San Bernardino bright and early. The team began pumping gas right away for incredibly grateful nurses. The timing couldn’t have worked out better for one nurse as she said, “This is so cool. I’m actually going on a road trip to visit my mom this weekend with my boyfriend, so this is perfect timing. Thank you so much!” Another thankful nurse pulled into the station at just the right time, “I was on empty and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this!”
Next, we surprised nurses in West LA on Friday morning. We were excited to help so many as one told us, “I was just going to fill it up today too; now I can spend that money on groceries for the week.” We were happy to know that we are being helpful in our community, and thanks to our nurses, we know our community will stay happy, healthy, and safe.
On our last day, we visited Long Beach and Fountain Valley. Given this past year, we know that nurses went above and beyond and worked tirelessly to make sure our neighbors were healthy. Now it is time for us to give back to them. One nurse mentioned, “I missed out last year. I was on a 12-hour shift that day. Not this time!” We were so glad we could help her out! Another happy nurse said, “I know I don’t look it, but I’m so excited to see you, I just got done working all night.” Thank you again to our wonderful nurses and we hope they felt honored and appreciated this week!
No need to step on the brakes! In honor of Memorial Day, Veterans and Honda drivers alike were pleasantly surprised with free gas in their tanks. All they had to do was head over to where the Guys in Blue were filling up in Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Inglewood, Colton, and Corona.
To kick off the unofficial first weekend of summer, our Guys in Blue began pumping in the early morning, assisting Veterans and Honda owners with free gas in Canoga Park. Honda drivers and Veterans were filled with gratitude, and an appreciative driver was about to cry. She shared, “I don’t remember the last time I had a full tank.” One Veteran who we helped out at a stop in Inglewood mentioned, “Thanks for helping Veterans too. Seems like people forget about the reason we have a Memorial Day.” Our small acts of kindness can truly make a difference, and that’s why we do it!
Finally, we capped off the festive holiday weekend by surprising holiday travelers around Colton and Corona with free gas. The Helpful Honda Guys love putting smiles on the faces of Veterans and Honda drivers and let them know how much they are appreciated.
Memorial Day Weekend may have ended, but our gratitude for our Veterans is ongoing. To request a Random Act of Helpfulness head to http://www.socalhondadealers.com/help-me-honda and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
