The SoCal Honda Dealers were excited to ring in this new school year in the helpful spirit for the students of Los Angeles Middle School Academy.
As part of the ‘Telemundo 53 T-Vista,’ and Teach for America Los Angeles, an evergreen campaign that gives underprivileged kids a better educational experience, the Helpful Team kicked off the program’s very first back to school event on August 15th by handing out over 1,800 backpacks filled with a school supplies.
The Guys in Blue spread cheer in the morning assembly by greeting students with the complimentary backpack. In addition to the school supplies, a surprise performance by 14 year-old Latin pop star and Grammy Award Winning artist Miguelito lit up the kids’ faces. Telemundo52’s morning anchor Dunia Elvir and LA councilman Curren D. Price Jr. also joined the Guys in Blue with Miguelito to show their support and encourage the kids of Los Angeles Middle School Academy as they begin another school year.
