The SoCal Honda Dealers deemed August & September Helping the Helpful and shared their Random Acts of Helpfulness with schools and local fire stations across Southern California. How? By collecting and donating more than 14,000 school supplies to over 50 schools, and bringing over 1,200 breakfasts and lunches to our hard working fire fighters at over 50 fire stations across SoCal. The Guys in Blue wanted to say “thank you” for the teachers’ and firefighters’ tireless efforts in serving their local communities.
Back in August, over 50 of your local Helpful Honda Dealerships placed “Back to School” donation bins in their dealerships and asked the community to “help us help schools” by donating much-needed school supplies to benefit a nearby school. The response was overwhelming! With your help, the Guys in Blue were able to collect and donate over 14,000 supplies to local elementary, middle, and high schools – from papers, pens and pencils, to folders, binders, and notebooks – and your donations were much appreciated by the beneficiary schools. “We are so excited to have been chosen. There are so many kids that really need assistance. We are so appreciative of the donation!” And when the Guys in Blue went to drop off the donations, not only were the students surprised and thankful for the supplies, but they were impressed to see that, well, we really do exist: “Oh my gosh! It’s the Helpful Honda Guys! Thank you so much! We are so grateful. I can’t wait to tell all my friends that you really do exist!”
And the Random Acts of Helpfulness did not stop there – we wanted to show our gratitude and appreciation for those who help keep our communities safe. So, every weekend in September, we surprised over 59 fire stations with breakfasts or lunches to say thank you for all they do in our communities. And what’s more helpful? We stayed to serve lunch, clean up the break room, and even help wash down fire trucks. And, as one firefighter simply put it, “This is just a real kind gesture and we really appreciate it! I don’t know how we got so lucky but you guys totally made our day!”
