The SoCal Honda Dealers brought a Helpful Hondaween to residents at local pumpkin patches and patients of children’s hospitals throughout Southern California. The Guys in Blue stopped by 24 different pumpkin patches and surprised hundreds of families with free pumpkins as part of their Random Acts of Helpfulness. They were welcomed with smiles and joy as they handed out a complimentary treat, “We appreciate all the good things Honda has been doing!” And when one family found out they couldn’t bring their four-legged friend into the patch, we were there to help by watching the family’s dog while they went inside to enjoy the pumpkin patch! “It’s so kind of you to watch our dog so that we can go in; we drove 40 minutes to come here!”

The Helpful Hondaween celebrations continued at local children’s hospitals, including Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s), Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach, Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA and Santa Monica, Riverside County Regional Medical Center, Huntington Hospital (Pasadena), SAC Health System (San Bernardino) and Ventura County Medical Center. Halloween cheer came with providing pumpkins for decorating, complimentary costumes for dress-up fun, and Halloween decorations to brighten up their rooms. The Guys in Blue were shown overwhelming gratitude and appreciation by the hard working staff, and by the kids they came to visit,“It’s just really cool that you guys can come here and hang out with us. I hope you can come back again!”

So what’s next for Random Acts of Helpfulness? The Helpful Teams are gearing up for a very Helpful Thanksgiving Holiday – we’ll be volunteering with local food banks; surprising Black Friday shoppers with ‘helpful fuel’ of coffee and hot cocoa; and speaking of ‘helpful fuel,’ we’ll be helping Honda drivers get to their holiday celebrations with free gas from the big, blue Tanker Truck!

Why? Because it’s our job to be helpful. Want to know more about upcoming our Helpful Holiday events and celebrations? ‘Like’ us on  and follow us on Twitter @HelpfulHonda  to see where we’re bringing Random Acts of Helpfulness next.
