Last year, almost 10,000 homeless but healthy and treatable animals were euthanized in Los Angeles.* In an effort to help our furry friends and to celebrate March as National Pet Adoption Month, the Southern California Honda Dealers are teaming up with local animal rescue groups and shelters to host a series of pet adoptions in various cities across the southland.

Helpful Honda Pet Adoptions kicked off on March 2nd at the Newport Beach Farmer’s Market with I.C.A.R.E Dog Rescue, where five adorable pets were sent off with new families. The Guys in Blue treated pet owners to complimentary collars and leashes, which proved very helpful to one recipient who exclaimed, “My dog chews through all her leashes, I can always use more!”  Though it was a gloomy, rainy Sunday, the pet adoption was a high point of one resident’s day, who told us, “You guys are making today a little bit better.”

Next, the Guys in Blue teamed up with the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Services on March 8th for another successful event, with close to a dozen animals finding new homes. The Helpful Team again provided complimentary collars and leashes for pet parents, and even treated kids to face painting.  One resident found her complimentary leash extra helpful and observed, “I love the reminder about the poop bags on the leashes!”

Helpful Honda Pet Adoptions will continue through March and April in multiples cities. Why? Because it’s our job to be helpful. To find out where you can meet your new best friend, check out our list of upcoming adoptions at https://www.facebook.com/SoCalHondaDealers/events, and follow us on Twitter at @HelpfulHonda  for the latest updates.  Come join us and help save a life!
