Over the holiday season, the Guys in Blue & your Helpful SoCal Honda Dealers helped spread holiday cheer across SoCal by surprising Honda drivers at the pumps with the Helpful Holiday tanker to pump free gas; bringing celebrations to the less fortunate; collecting and donating toys for children in need; and providing Rose Parade campers with blue snuggies to help them stay warm on New Year’s Eve. How’s that for helpful?
The Guys in Blue kicked off 12 Days of Free Gas over Thanksgiving with the Helpful Holiday tanker. We surprised Honda drivers with free gas – our way of helping loyal Honda owners save money for their holiday shopping, celebrations, and upcoming holiday travels. And it couldn’t have come at a better time for one mom who saved a little extra money at the pumps, “Thank you, so much! Now I can spend my saved money on presents for my kids! I get to buy more presents now that you filled my tank!” And for a young man in Torrance, the Guys in Blue brought him the best gift for his Honda, “This is just like Christmas morning. I’ve never had a full tank. This is incredible; you seriously just made my week!”
The Helpful Honda teams also donated over $25,000 worth of toys to organizations collecting toys for kids and teens in need. When we asked you to help us help kids in need, you lent a hand too: “You guys are so incredibly helpful and generous every year, so when I saw you guys on the news, I had to come donate!”
And the celebrations didn’t stop there: we brought our Random Acts of Helpfulness to families, kids, teens, and elders in need with a week full of Helpful Holiday Events. We kicked off our week of giving by serving warm meals and providing much-needed essentials for people in need and hosting a Santa’s Workshop to build bikes for special needs children. For one young man, our help was the best gift he could have ever received, “I’ve seen your commercials. It’s great to see you guys really helping out. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I really needed this jacket, I am so happy. This is really nice of you to do this for us.”
Finally, we celebrated the New Year with the brave people who camp out for a spot along the Rose Parade route – we knew they were cold, so we came to help! The Guys in Blue brought THOUSANDS of blue snuggies to Rose Parade fans to ensure they stayed cozy and warm as they counted down to the new year, and waited for the parade to start. Many were surprised by our presence, “Wow! It’s like you were ripped straight from TV! I never thought I’d see you guys in person! I’m going to stay warm, thanks to this!” – and others, well, they already know that it’s our job to be helpful, “I should’ve expected to see you guys here, you’re always helping! You made my new year!”
What’s our New Year’s resolution? To be even more helpful! Look out for us helping load your groceries; setting up your barbecues at the park; cheering for you at marathons and runs; picking up litter at shopping malls, parks, and beaches; helping find forever homes for homeless pets; handing out complimentary roses during the love-day holiday; surprising deserving teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week; surprising folks with free ice cream during the summer; and making sure fans at USC, UCLA, Dodgers, Ducks, and Angels home games have an unforgettable experience. ‘Like’ us at Facebook.com/socalhondadealers and follow us on Twitter at @HelpfulHonda to find out where we’ll bring Random Acts of Helpfulness next.
