The Guys in Blue kicked off Valentine’s Day with a pop-up concert at the Panorama City Mall, where shoppers were able to enjoy a free concert featuring Mexican Regional Artist Jesus Mendoza. They handed out roses and warm blue snuggies to shoppers. And for an added treat, three lucky Honda drivers were also surprised with gift cards for a dream Valentine’s Day dinner date!
The helpfulness continued, when the Guys in Blue handed out thousands of complimentary roses at locations across Southern California. Whether it was from the inside of a courthouse, an assisted living facility, or an animal shelter, people alike were shocked and delighted to receive these unexpected gifts to help them get in the spirit of love. “A lot of the students would rather be with their friends and families instead of in class, so this means a lot to them,” said one faculty member at the Medical Careers Institute. “Thanks for making this a special day for all of us.”
One of the favorite stops of the day was at the YMCA, where the Helpful Honda Guys surprised staff members and students of Stride, “a program that assists and encourages adults, intellectually and developmentally disabled achieve their highest potential in the community and everyday life.” Everyone lit up with excitement as the roses were handed out. “Thank you for the free roses, you guys made my day.” Some were pleasantly surprised by this, “Why are you guys doing this? Whatever the reason, this is what makes Honda the best!”
