Welcome to the bustling back-to-school season, filled with fresh beginnings, pristine notebooks, and the thrilling anticipation of new experiences. But before you pack up your backpacks, there’s an extra dose of excitement for you this year: The Helpful Honda Back to School Free Book Fair!
In early September, our Guys in Blue set out on a mission to distribute free books to more than 500 students at each of the five Southern California elementary schools we visited.
Our first stop was Evelyn Carr Elementary in Torrance, where we were met with plenty of smiles and genuine excitement from students and teachers. The Helpful Honda team allowed students to choose one book to take home from a diverse selection. One teacher remarked, “These books are quite a collection; I wonder how they’ll all make their choice!” Meanwhile, one student chimed in, “You blue guys are pretty cool; this is awesome!” The school principal expressed their gratitude for this Random Act of Helpfulness. After all, helping is what we do!
Next, we made a surprise visit to Shirpser Elementary in El Monte. The kids were eager to see us and were genuinely surprised that we brought a Random Act of Helpfulness to their school. As we handed out free books to students of various grade levels, one fourth-grader couldn’t believe their eyes, saying, “I thought I was dreaming for a second; you guys are real!” Another student from a different grade level shared, “This is making me want to read more now.” What better way to kindle a passion for learning than by giving away free books.
As we visited different elementary schools across SoCal, we felt honored to provide students with this valuable opportunity to shape themselves into the leaders of tomorrow through the power of knowledge.
Stay tuned by following us on Facebook,Ā Twitter, andĀ InstagramĀ to keep up with our upcoming Helpful Hondaween events and learn how you can also experience a Random Act of Helpfulness!
